It's a bit more complicated than that...
Won't be celebrating the jubly in any way shape or form. Will be staying in Canterbury post FNRttC for the weekend and bumming about on a bike (weather depending) avoiding the bunting on the Monday and Tuesday.

Turning the FNRttC to Whitstable into a three-day tandem tour via Dungeness and Ticehurst. Dodging bunting wherever it may be found.

Stage one of the route to Dungeness (Sunday) involves a trip to Canterbury - unless we're so wrecked by the night ride that we take the short route west. As long as you promise not to fall off is there a chance you'll be bumming about in the same direction?

I shall put on a union jack thong and wander, otherwise naked, round the town centre trying to kiss strangers and shouting "how's that for a sceptre, madam? "

So, just another normal quiet day for you then?

Such promises are made to be broken. ;)

Plan is for a romantic (overtired and slightly drunken) Saturday afternoon/night in Canterbury and Sunday in Whitstable with the lovely Helen. Who is stopping in Canterbury on the Friday night. (I know how to treat a woman!)

Bumming about on bicycles will recommence Monday morning back in West Sussex.

I,m ODing on the Jubilee, Saturday is a party in a house next to the river in Putney where all the boats will be marshalling, Sunday I'll be at company do, which as we have a balcony the size of a small football pitch with views over Tower and London bridges should give us an amazing view. And Monday and Tuesday I'm off to Norfolk to stay with the Queen (as I call mrs Brains)

Raising a glass to someone who has served us well for 60 years, and remembering that she did not ask for the job in the first place.
Is that Mrs Goggins, down the post-office, who only wandered in looking for a stamp, all those years ago?

We've been told at work that the day is not going to recognised as a holiday and so we have to work it as normal
Sorry to hear that, infact is that even legal? I thought holiday entitlement usually included bank holidays these days.

We're doing a Jubilee Beacon on Mynydd Aberyscir, kids entertainment, BBQ, Big big beacon/ bonfire, fireworks (my job for the night), bar (which I'll have to stay away from until I've done the fireworks). Mrs D is at the organising meeting as I type. Should be good, really hope the weather holds. We're expecting a good few hundred to turn up.

I think that anyone who does not support Royalty yet takes the holiday is a total hypocrit, bit like taking the day off for every religious holiday for whatever religion it may apply to.

Do your bit for your country if you do not want to celebrate an amazing woman then go to work. After all, that is what she will be doing.
