My pride and joy (apart from my bikes and my guitar) is my HiFi it has an amazing sound, loud enough to rattle the elements in the toaster (and that's in the kitchen) yet clear as a bell
What is it ... an Acoustical Manufacturing Co QUAD 33 Control unit and 2 QUAD 303 power amps designed in 1967 in Huntingdon Cambs, my main source is a Thorens turntable of similar vintage.

Talking of radios, I just bought a Roberts non-digital one instead of a digital one because there's a wider range of stations and you can get other European stations.

That thing on my handlebars is remarkable. It gets all 4 main French language stations on long wave beautifully, as well as RTE Radio 1 from Dublin. It's the only time I've ever listened to Radio 1!

Cost about a half of a DAB set and pulls in about 20x the number if stations. Bargain.

My mobile phone is switched off daily

I have started to turn my phone off, seems having a phone now a days means getting bombarded with text and calls, all to talk about nothing. The other week my phone really got on my nerves by beeping and ringing so much, I looked back at the time I had spent that day on the phone....just short of 6hrs. I was really angry with myself, since that day I have either ignored calls or just turned it off. It used to be that when I saw friends we would talk about what we had been up to, now I hardly see them because they call to tell me, so meeting up now we have nothing to say, or there is repetitive convo . I want to go back to how it was. Writing a letter to friends who live far away, the occasional phone call, setting a date to meet up for lunch/dinner and a chat. I enjoy my own company and silence, I dont need to talk to people everyday. You would have thought some people have glued the phone to their hands.
