Purveyor of fine nonsense
I was walking back to the car in Wickham's village square carpark on Monday and as I walked past a van occupied by a fat chav girl who had just finished eating a pot noodle, she belched and threw the empty pot out of the window, not three feet from my foot.
I was thinking about something else at the time so I didn't realise what she'd done until I got back in the car and had the engine running and was in the middle of reversing out of the parking space with someone else waiting to jump into it, so I didn't have any choice but to carry on and leave.
I reflected that had I realised at the time, I would have picked it up, given it back to her and politely asked her if she wouldn't mind not throwing her litter all over the floor in an otherwise picture-postcard rural village centre.
My first thought was that she would have told me to "fack orf" and then given me a tirade of foul-mouthed abuse. Alternatively, she may have been so embarrassed that she may have apologised and meekly taken the pot back! I was smartly dressed at the time, having just returned from a business appointment, so she could have reacted either way.
What would you have done in that situation?
