Velovision.

I subscribe to Cycling Active and Cycling Plus. I prefer the 'read' of Cycling Active, but the reviews in Plus (when they aren't stupidly expensive ones) if that makes sense.

For MTB, my father-in-law subscribes to MBUK, which I like for the tear out route suggestions in the back

Procycling for me. £4.99 well spent each month (I should really get a subscription) on what is a high quality magazine with plenty of varied and interesting articles - if you are into the pro scene.

If you have an interest in the expensive MTB end of the market, Singletrack.
Would be my take.

Velovision for cycling as a counter-culture
Cycling Active for real life kit/bikes
Cycling Plus for the porn
Singletrack to fuel my off-road fantasies
Arrivée for the inspiration to go further and longer

and that almost literary one that isn't rouleur the name of which I can't recall.

Any magazine will repeat itself after a while.I used to subscribe to Trail/country walking and Canoe & kayak mags, all good magazines but the subjects are limited. With cycling it's basically bike/bits, kit/bits then a few other odds & sods then you're done.
I just buy a bike mag every now and then as I've been stung before.
4 quid for a glossy...?

I'd go for Cycling Active (having tried most of them over the years). Bought my latest bike on their recommendations and the ride routes in the back are always good (even if they are at the wrong end of the country).

I get CA which Is Ok but a quarter of the mag is adverts and a few of the articles have no interest for me so it only takes about 15 minutes to read it. It's probably a better read than the pretentious crap your get on here though.

None, there is pretty much everything you want for free on the internet anyway, why pay a fiver for a cut down version of the same information?

I like the feel of a magazine rather than reading stuff online, although mags are very expensive. I can't find a mag that offers what I want: I'd like a paper version of crazy guy on a bike. Cycling is a nice read, but the articles are too short and lack adventure. I find myself devouring paperback books on cycle tours instead.

If you fancy something different try The RIde or Boneshaker. Definitely no kit reviews or 'how to mend a puncture' articles but interesting none the less. I think you can download PDF version of older issues from their websites.

The Ride Journal. That's the one! Bloomin' marvellous.

I read Cycling Active , which as said above can be a little bit "new to cycling" but also still come up with good info and articles.
I keep thinking of changing to another but not found one thats any better.

I receive a gift subscription of cycling plus. My wife and lad refer to it as my "bike porn".
As mentioned above it is full of £8,000 bikes and £3,000 wheel upgrades, the latest jersey made from virgin dolphins tears for £945. But I guess when you work for a publication like this you get to "test" the kit, I wonder if it ever gets posted back? And if I worked there I'd do it too.
It would be nice to see them feature more real people and more suggested routes per issue.
They do a monthly route suggestion, but I wonder what % of readers ride it due to the fact that it's only close to a few people. Maybe splitting it into 2 in Scotland, 2 Wales, 4 in England and on in NI per issue.
