What's the main difference between your #1 bike and #2?

#1 is a carbon monocoque ribble r872 with campag centaur red/black groupset
#1a is a 1951 claud butler olympic sprint in pretty original condition
#3 is an aluminium carrera-badged merida 6061 t6 aluminium frame with shimano tiagra groupset
#4 is an old 531 steel carlton frame made up with a mix of components including shimano sora
#5 is a ramshackle old hard-tail mtb that needs a lot of work

Only a scrapman would steal my #2 bike (a 1980's Raleigh Chiltern). I use it when I have to leave a bike in high theft risk places.

Specialized Tricross for commuting and group rides. Ok bike, not terribly fast but I can keep up ok with mates on it.

My Ice Sprint recumbent trike. Quite a bit slower, wouldn't ride it when out with mates. Loads more fun than the Tricross though and my preference for solo rides.

Nearly forgot, third bike. My mtb, only use it if I go proper mountain biking which isn't too often these days.

One (road bike) is carbon and only comes out in the summer (because everyone knows carbon melts in the rain), the other is a CX bike and is my winter and wet weather workhorse.
