I once dated a woman and sleep with her and her 19 year old daughter, that is the sickest I have ever been

Had two cases of food poisoning one after the other a couple of years ago in Cambodia (after initially having had constipation for more or less three weeks). Talk about dam busters!

Had the winter sickness bug seven years ago for 24 hours and didn´t know which end to stick down the toilet! My girlfriend at the time was also affected by it and we had to take turns in the bathroom as we only had one toilet. NOT nice!

Bi-lateral pneumonia a few years ago.

Went to the doctor after not being able to shake off a flu after a couple of weeks.
On seeing my blue lips he called an ambulance and i went straight to hospital.

I could barely walk the length of the ward until the antibiotics did their stuff.
The recovery power of the human body is incredible.

I agree with what people say about flu and I wish others would quit referring to a slight cold as flu. A week of total agony, simultneously shivering and sweating and easily 3 months before full health is restored. I too lost load so of weight, unfortunately mostly previously healthy muscle.

I've had it once in my life and as a healthy 32 year old at the time could easily understand how it can kill the old and sick.

I had proper flu about 10 years ago.
It still makes me laugh watching the adverts on the telly for "cold and flu relief" ..... 2 tablets and its into work to give a vital presentation !!!!!
In my more lucid moments i was just hoping not to die.

A ruptured appendix when I was 5, almost sent to school by my parents because I was apparently putting it on. In that much pain I was crawling. Thankfully they saw sense, called the Dr, I would have been dead within and hour if I hadn't had an emergency Op.

Glandular fever when I was 19, I slept for almost a week - but given that I was a student at the time very few people noticed any difference.

I contracted some kind of stomach bug in south america that I had for about 5 years afterwards - in that I couldn't have certain foods/drinks without becoming really ill. However it didn't make me that ill when I was actually travelling other than constant vomiting and diahorrea. No aches or shivers or anything.

I suppose the worst thing that happened to me was that I had a rare congenital deformity which meant I lost the use of my arms for 5 - 6 years between the ages of 18 - 25 (it took them that long to diagnose and treat it). I was in pain for 95% of the time, had no grip or strength in my arms and hands, and it pretty much scuppered all of my career plans, ambitions and hobbies, and changed the course of my life permanently. I often wonder what would have happened to me had it not been for that.
