What challenge do you really want to overcome...something crazzzy which would take a high amount of effort to overcome.

I'm getting itchy feet and determined to do something nutterish such as race to the south pole or along those lines

Well the channel 4 series dare devils had some ideas such as the ice man doing an arctic circle marathon and of course you could try and climb the Petronas Towers like Alain Robert.

I want to get under 39 minutes for a 10K. I ran 39:01 a couple of years ago, and then I lost focus, got injured and put on weight. And I want to run under 1:25 for a half.

I guess my aims are: Firstly get back onto the bike and back into running....
The get my fitness and times back....then weedle them down
Then half ironman, followed by the full iron man. Also interested in an ultra-marathon, but not sure this would be a wise idea at a young age, as I would loose alot of speed focus training while training long distance.

But those goals are a bit tame, an Arctic/some other harsh conditions challenge would be brilliant.
Once that is all done, - join the Royal Marines

That reminds me, I'd like to run 3 miles in 18 minutes, which would be top marks for that part of the the American Marines fitness test. IIRC, you also have to be able to do 20 chin ups and a certain number of sit ups to get maximum points.

I was more concerned with FM's wish to 'do' an Ironman?

Round the world on a bike. would like to do the record too, but as it needs (IMHO) to be left a few years to regain it's 'novelty', then I might be too old to do it in record time.

Still would like to do a lap 'de la globe' on my own, just to say I did.

My mate turns 40 next year, so we're planning to cycle from Lhasa in Tibet to Kathmandu in Nepal. I need to put in some serious training, but the thought of a 100 mile downhill inspires me.

I would like to do an ironman one day. I also want to do the Trans-Rockies and The Great Divide.

Well this is my brother. He only started tri a couple of years ago and I'm dead proud. Has done Australia and Texas too.

This is him in the Ironman Florida, which my parents were there for.

If anyone wants to know how it went (and how hard it is)... it's here

Me? I'd like to be able to go on a plane, visit him and play around with our mountain bikes. Instead of being so scared of flying. ;)
