Just entered London-Wales-London, but it's a ballot so we'll see if I get in.

None TLC version called Bare Bones runs a few weeks later. The latter was how it used to run before the rebrand. Coming in the back of Membury services late at night, and confusing M4 car drivers, was fun.

Plenty of good 400s out there.

That's my concern. I don't need the 400 for PBP next year as I've already got a BRM one, so will be up there but monitoring.

Did you ride it, Border Nights 400 I presume?

No - son no. 2 was unwell and I was over-tired so we both decided not to ride. Instead we had lunch at the same café as some of those taking part and went to visit the local air museum, including sitting the cockpit of a Vulcan bomber.

Next one is a 200, either the Peculier Old 200 or Eureka 200.

Also got hotel booked for Friday and will get a kip at the HQ before going home so now looking for the cheapest light sleeping bag I can find (prob be Mountain Warehouse).

I rode it about 20 years ago. It was one of the first rides that I did using GPS navigation.

I remember one rider at the start getting his bike out of his car and then cursing loudly. He had driven for hours to get there but had forgotten to bring his cycling shoes!

It was a bit spooky riding past some of the meres in the dark on the way back to event HQ. I almost got clobbered by a flock(?) of ducks suddenly flying out of the trees right in front of me!

Everybody was taking their bikes inside at the finish. I think that a bike (or bikes) had been stolen the year before.
