I always pack my suit into my pannier the night before, so in the morning I can just get up and go... especially useful if you wake up tired and aren't sure if you can be arsed... you always feel better than you expect once you get going and if your stuff is packed you've no excuse...

Oh and my favourite trick... don't forget your cufflinks!

Money is a problem one. You'll need to add fiddle factors like Gym membership, Slimming club membership, costs of other interests/hobbies that have been supplanted by your cycling in order to show that it is cheaper than that new bike, new kit, gadgets for bike, upgrades for bike, bike magazine subscriptions, etc, etc, etc,

Keep an eye on Lidl and Aldi for their cycling gear. Most is terrific value.

Watch out for N+1, last year I was adamant one bike was enough for me, now I have three and I am already thinking about the next one.

Don't force your self to cycle if you don't feel well, you'll just make your self ill & you'll end up taking more time off the bike than if you had cycled.

gloves, for when you fall off and put your hands down . they also keep your fingers warm in the early autumn mornings when its just got light.

Get a computer with cadence on it.

My 21-mile-each-way rural commute was made much less dull on quiet days by being able to log some sort of improvement in one area or another.

Funnily, my wife found my excitement over reaching some new PB quite hard to get thrilled about...

Make sure everyone around you knows where you plan on going, then there is less chance of them trying to be in the same place at the same time. Be positive with your road position and signals.

This works well in cars too :-)
