As long as I breathe, I attack.
Struck me today as i got back from a quick spin to find the mother in law had come for a visit and i told her i had only gone for a quick spin of 24 miles .

I haven't started taking it seriously yet! When I do, I won't be satisfied with a crummy 8,600-odd CycleChat posts, I'll want to be on here all the time telling you about it.

Hang on ... if I was taking cycling that seriously, I'd either be out on my bike or sleeping off my exertions, so I wouldn't have time to be on here!

Actually, it did occur to me when organising Saturday's very hilly 41 mile forum ride, that I'd described it elsewhere as a 'little' ride!

When I lived in Dublin and moved closer to the office 2001 I think, I bought a bike to commute, the commute wasn't much (sub 1.5 miles round) but after a while I developed the urge to go on longer rides with folks and then urges to go on more rides myself too and use any excuse to use my bike. I think it was about then I realised I was getting serious that'd be 2003 or 2004 at a guess and when I moved to Scotland in 2005 I got my Sirrus (my then new leisure bike) and the heavy steel town bike (Atalanta Black Diamond) I had in Ireland was relegated to work horse. I have since bought another two road bikes and replaced the Black Diamond (written off ) with a Ridgeback Velocity.
