Ooo, haven't been over this year yet, so I'm immediately envious. Enjoy

I will know summer has arrived (IF it arrives) when I am contemplating a circuit of Arran  .

Didn't go out for a bike ride today because of the forecast heavy thundery showers from midday onwards. Watched the Euros game instead. And of course - NO showers, in fact it has brightened up and looks like zero wind!! :cursing:

This has basically been my day today. Normally go out with the club around 0830, heavy rain predicted at 9 and 11am so I gave it a miss., and went for a morning walk at 0730 instead. Got back at 0830, forecast had completely changed to no rain. Weather looked nice this afternoon after a high chance of a storm at 1300, so I decided I'd go this afternoon. Had some lunch around 1200 and checked the weather at 1230. Funnily enough, storm no longer forecast.

Managed to get out for an hour and a half or so, but nevertheless, fark this weather.

Scottish school holidays began this weekend, which of course guarantees 6 weeks of cold and rain. Which is exactly what is forecast for the next 10 days or so. Wednesday for example, rain and max temp of 13C. It's July!!.

I did have some warm sunny weather last week..... but I had to go to Lytham St. Annes, then Birmingham, and lastly Cheltenham to find it. While I was away, it was business as usual on the Costa Clyde. Cold, wet, windy. To the extent that Clyde ferry services were disrupted by the wind. At the end of June. It's not a good sign.

As a fair weather cyclist from Scotland I'm really struggling to get out this year compared to past years. I like to take a day off work through the week to head out on a jaunt but this weather can't really be predicted. I took off 4 days last week to try and get away and do some cycling but it rained every day with one of the days blowing a hoolie so ended up bored pottering about the house.

Totally annoying drops of rain yesterday and after just letting my mutt out for a pee it's still going on! It's not full rain, as in little separation between the drops, more larger drops a few inches apart. I heard that we can only expect a summer, when we'll have an 'Indian summer' in mid to late September.

By our standards, the past week has been mostly good. And I have been on holiday (at home), so a bonus. Managed a few rides. But.... normal service due to return on Thursday, and the forecast for the following 10 days is "unsettled". Which pretty much sums it up. We just don't seem to get long spells of good weather any more, at any time of year. Maybe 3 or 4 days, and that's it; back to wind and rain for weeks on end.
