Find it more reassuring that they're still having to second guess Mother Nature. But you would think with all the technology at their disposal that they could do a better job of forecasting it!

Oh yeah, bone to pick with you @Brandane - I was up in South East Ayrshire at the weekend expecting the rain which I'd enjoyed as a bairn. Glorious sunshine all day on Saturday. Admittedly it was cloudy as I was leaving on Sunday, but no rain until I hit Carlisle.
I'm beginning to think you're making it all up to dissuade visitors...
August 2024 in our local area had 240% of it's average August rainfall (which in itself is quite high!).
Cycling mileage for August 2022 was 435 miles (13 rides). August 2024 - 59 miles (3 rides)! Says it all.
Since last night, it hasn't stopped raining for one minute here in Glasgow!
Only really stopped here now, but I'm flying out to Turkey for a week so prepare yourself for a cracking week of weather.![]()
Is that all it takes? Maybe the good people of Scotland could get together and pay for you to go on an extended trip to Turkey next year. How does May to October suit you?

Just curious, but what's in Turkey that is worth visiting?
