Got out yesterday, despite wet start it stayed dry. But, freezing cold westerly wind and high of 12 degrees. With the wind chill I was grateful of longs, gloves and buff! Raining and windy today again.

Very shortly here, apparently.

Unfortunately, the temperature will only limp up to around 11 degrees C and it will feel more like 8 degrees with wind chill due to winds gusting from 20 kmph to 40+!

Where we are near Matera in Southern Italy, it was 37 in the shade today, and a blistering sun too. Felt like cycling in a furnace!

My fingers were only just getting over the chilling that they got on last Sunday's ride and then I went out this afternoon and chilled them all over again!

I was actually muttering about Flaming June as I grovelled back into the drizzly wind...

I put my metal tipped walking stick down and it sank about 7 inches into the sodden ground, in the cemetery this afternoon.

Constant rain has turned the turf into a bog in places!!!

I have just gone out to wheel the waste bin out and it's the nice almost water in the air mind of wet that makes it cold but nice when camping in a tent. I like camping in the rain, that sort of day where you wait for the heavy rain to die down to just light rain so you can go to the toilet.

I love the way this not heavy rain but also not that drizzly rain that wets you out makes the air feel cleaner. Rain doesn't have to be a problem or negative.

Off for a 10 day campervan trip next weekend, it better buck up by then
