I ventured down to the Costa Clyde yesterday half expecting to see @Brandane with a sandwich board warning of the imminent ending of the world due to flooding or at least seeing him making a start on building an Ark in his garden as the weather really was horrendous down there yesterday. I did smile when I saw Largs answer to the London Eye with at least a few different groups trying to make the most of things even though they probably couldn't even see Milport the cloud was that thick. To be fair, I wasn't laughing this morning when I realised that the weather had made it over the hill to me today so I just had a bit of a lazy sofa day although the sun is coming out now, but I've sat that long, I can't be bothered to move of my ass so any activity can wait until tomorrow.

I tried to escape the rain by heading off to the east. Knockhill racing circuit, where TruckFest was being held. It was marginally less wet than Largs, but frequent heavy showers made me feel right at home. After a few soakings I headed back to the west, and some sort of dry but windy weather had arrived by late afternoon. Then back to normal this morning with a full day of wind and non stop rain.
I believe we are in for a treat tomorrow? Forecast says only a few scattered showers (no doubt I will find them!). Then proper rain again on Tuesday.

the Costa Clyde it is also wet, windy, and COLD,
Same here inland, it hasn't stopped raining all day, quite heavy too, not even Alfie the cat has ventured out for more than 10 minutes.
Seems to have stopped now.
Not cold though, it's 17C inside at mines now, but I had the oven on for a few hours - to cook, not to heat myself up
although the sun is coming out now
Really?
Not here in Rutherglen.
Here it's getting dark!

Well, it did make a brief appearance but looks to have disappeared again. 😕

Quick thread deviation then....

A few years ago I was doing agency work and did a double manning job with the guy who owns this. Moving Airbus wing parts from the factory near Chester to Spirit aerosystems at Prestwick. Wasn't driving this one at the time though. But he spoke about nothing other than lorries for the whole shift! I quite liked driving them but that was where my interest in lorries ended, so it was a long day .

A company reasonably local to me (Kilbirnie).

And a biker... TT fan.

Won't dwell on the deviation then, but nice. :becool:

It’s official …Summer 2024 has been so wet it's a record breaker
https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/articles/cr5n7nn289do

In the above link, it says that Millport on the Isle of Cumbrae (about 2 miles from me) has had 240% of it's average summer rainfall (June, July, and August). And lest we forget, the average is a high starting point! Plus, I doubt the figures include last nights 6 hour downpour resulting in flooding this morning. An utter stinker of a summer which I will be glad to see the back of.
