In someones house when in Chiang Mai. Following a conversation in a pharmacy I was invited round for some food and had the most delicious curry I have ever eaten.

In the UK it would be Birmingham.

Another home cooked Thailand one.
I was out on a dive boat for a days reef bothering off Koh Tao. At lunchtime the captain brought out various plastic boxes, curries, rice, salads. All stuff his wife prepares every day for his customers. The chicken curry was sublime, hot but fresh and so well rounded, it was not like anything I've come across in a restaurant either.

A colleague from India brought in a very spicy curry made with chicken thighs to one of our "charity picnic" days.
Her mother made it and it was lovely, bought an extra portion to take home to Mr M.

My sister swears by supermarket curries; every Friday she goes to Uxbridge M&S and shouts "YOU BA$taRds!"
I have only had horse drawn curry, so I think threemasalasmcginty probably had the edge. I did have a very nice nosh and a chat with Cyrus Todiwala last year...and we ate at his place by Tower Hill. Café Spice Namaste - an amazing eating experience...fish too. (Not eating - but being eaten).
Most long-lasting was after a cricket match v Southern Railways. A Mitcham curry house offered a 'meat phall', and I, as a mere youngster full of runs, wickets and beer, devoured one. Pretty hot stuff - which then found its way back into the fresh air fairly quickly, not before passing into my nostrils.
It was a pretty painful evening until the pints of anaesthetic kicked in for the second time...all good fun, and I've always felt a little chili since that day. Brrr!

Wowee; I am not sure, I've had 1000's and don't even like them much, first time I had one (La Luna, Gt Horton Rd, Bfd) I thought the chapatis were hand towels! I do like old style Bradford places like the Karachi. International, Kashmir, places that haven't changed for decades, stained & warped formica and toilets to die in.

I think my best was in place where they sprinkled herbs and chilies on the top and the curries were very "red" via a dye I think is now banned. It was located near the Ice Rink opposite the mortuary, The Paradise I think it was called.............

Leicester, in several different places serving Gujarati vegetarian fare. We tried several on Belgrave Road over the years, as well as one on Narborough Road.

Other best - Bombay street food, which was rather similar to the Gujarati stuff so no wonder I liked it, though something I ate or drank there did my insides no good at all.

Talking about curries this morning and someone said the best they'd tasted was a Dal Bhat (rice and curry) whilst trekking in Nepal during their gap year.

What about you? Where did you eat the best curry you've ever tasted?
Seriously? Dhal Bhat is lentil stew and rice. Nutritious but bland was my verdict.

A mate took us to a back street place in Bradford, which is apparently very well known but I can't remember the name at the minute...I'll have to ask him when I see him next week.
Really basic in terms of decor and it looked like nothing special from outside, but what a curry!
