I’ve taken mine off today to see how I felt, nice day for it. Had them on since December.

Generally worn Nov - April for warmth. Not overly bothered about wet feet. I normally leave them on my shoes so I only have to fasten / unfasten the back

End of October to beginning of March, like my mudguards.

I've got the thick, rubbery zip-up types. A bit of a faff to get on, but fine one you're used to it.

I use the Castelli Nano ones.
Mega tight fitting and thin. Really keeps the wind and water out too.

Dont seem to have any problems wearing them year round as they arent that thick

Didn't the fact that I prefaced my posting with "I simply don't understand......." lead you to understand that I was giving my opinion? If this is suddenly against the forum rules, perhaps you could point out when that change occurred. You might also point out where my incredulity ever extended to "lumping all cycling together as an amorphous blob". Or, if you feel that your pedantry has made its point, whatever that was, you might consider whether now is the time to just back off.
Maybe we're not seeing the words used in the same way. I too am only expressing an opinion, whats good for the goose eh. I've no desire to get into a flame war and you do seem to have gone ultra defensive, enjoy your riding.

If you cycle in footwear like this you may not need overshoes.

The older I get, the faster I used to be ...
If the OP is asking about overshoes I take it that he is a 'serious' cyclist (what ever that means... ), not just a 'person riding a bike', and that he is probably using clipless pedals and cycling shoes (otherwise the question probably wouldn't arise). Do we really have to qualify what form of 'cycling' we are talking about every time we post? Isn't it usually obvious from the context?
