As to the "Pride of Anglia" stuff I think it's harmless fun. I'm looking forward to the derbies again - always great stuff.

Sadly I think we should both admit we're basically about the same these days in the grand scheme of things.

In the olden days teams like Ipswich and Norwich could, with a combo of good management (Alf Ramsay and Bobby Robson especially and for us Dave Stringer, Mike Walker) and a good crop of local / youth players, challenge the best teams in Europe.

Sadly this is not likey to happen again at present and we'll both be yo-yo sides around Championship level, with one or other getting briefly promoted or relegated. The Derby's will determine the bragging rights B)

Obviously Ipswich (the town) is a horrible dump whereas Norwich (the city) is a cosmopolitan, beautiful, student-filled vibrant place (A bit like a continental city I always think

LOL, agree about being yoyo clubs however I think your eye test at specsavers is overdue

Not sure what you mean 4F, although I knew you'd respond - which is cool. As you see I think we are similar and I recognise the great achievements of Ipswich back in the day - winning the league/cup/EUFA cup. Friendly rivalry etc

But are you really saying Ipswich is a beautiful town and Norwich is ugly? I lived in Ipswich for a year and even the locals don't pretend it's a great place to live.

QPR...and I'm holding my breath until the season finishes.

QPR must be a crazy team to support!

Supposedly super-rich but no translation to winning on the pitch?

I've always felt if I were a QPR fan that I would want a bit more clarity about how much money has been put in, and a stable management with a sensible and achievable 5 year plan.

What's the feeling down at Loftus Rd?

I've always had a soft spot for QPR from my youth when they had Marsh, Stan Bowles, Gerry Francis, Dave Thomas etc.

I've managed three and a half games this season; one game was abandoned at half time and the second half was played mid-week some time later when I couldn't go. Reason for abandonment - rain!

Thought that was cricket....

One more for Sunderland.

I usually get to 3 or 4 games a season, but have only manged one dreadful affair away to Birmingham this season so far.

Fulham nil all at home for me. Dire.

Things have picked up since then though!

Chortle, of course not however for the sake of the normal debate between our 2 great sides I will always argue blue and white

By the way you forgot to mention that you have an airport and a cathedral :blush:

Football - AFC Wimbledon
Wimbledon fan through the 80's/90's, then switched after Kinnear had a heart attack and that weirdo with the wellies sank us and we became a franchise (WTF???).

We did not become a franchise. They became a franchise. We became a fan-owned club and are knocking on the door to the league (shame about getting stuffed 5-0 by york City).

Get thee to Kingsmeadow!

Were also not a small town in Essex too.... :girl::biggrin:;)

Oh very droll

This thread has made me chuckle a few times however not as much as our lost forage into Europe (Inter Milan) when loads of us sent postcards addressed to Delia, c/o NCFC, Carrot Road, Norwich with "wish you where here, love itfc"

Incredibly childish yet at the same time highly amusing :becool:

Hiya Mate

I think the feeling down at Loftus Road is a lot better since Briatore left his majority stakeholding. Under him, we became the laughing stock of the Championship and what has really gone badly wrong this season was the sacking of Magilton and the upstart attitude of some of the players who are simply not good enough with a (previously) crap board to boot.

So many crazy things have happened at the club and yet I feel if we can get through this year (nothing would surprise me in this life, including relegation) I feel we will be able to go forward.

Saying all that, even with all the money we have so little has been spent where it is needed and so much by Briatore and his playboys turning us into a boutique, 'prawn-sandwich' club and in the process they started to rip the soul out of us, alienating people to the extent that they don't feel a part or can't afford to be a part of the club they love.

For me, I'm a distant son and get to a few away games a year what with a young daughter, cycling, but keep in touch with people. Just hope we can overturn the Palace tomorrow but something tells me we might not.
