Who do you tip in the UK?

I gave the dog groomer a 2 quid tip yesterday. I was going to give her a fiver but tightness took over me. Mind you,she was lucky to get anything at all from tight wad me.

I've got an Asda delivery coming this afternoon. Xmas stuff. I know some people tip the delivery guy but I don't.

House removals
Taxi
Uber
Gardener
Handyman
Bar staff

From the above, I will tip the Restaurant waiter, the taxi and I think I tipped the Removals team years ago when we last moved. The others...no. I like Ubers for many reasons, one of which is there is no tip expectation. I might let the bar staff keep the change if it's a modestish amount

Note, this is standard service. Not some Xmas box pressie to someone who offers year round service (like the paperboy)

Don't tip Uber cause I don't use them.Same for a Gardner or handyman (that's myself !) As for the rest allways,I've done a lot of those jobs and they rely on tips.I prefer to tip staff themselves rather than a service charge

Hairdresser, restaurants but not all restaurants, bar staff, taxis sometimes. Was completely uncomfortable tipping people when in the States, typical Brit.

As a delivery Postman during the years 1972 -1983.I never got one tip. I was that fast i was around and done before they got up.So they never knew who their Postman was.

My last job was being a milkman, this was about 1976, I was given a total of just over £300 in Xmas tips, it was only a small round as well.

Used to tip in restaurants eveytime but as I've got older I realise I have already paid for someone to cook and bring my food out so only tip if I have have had an exceptional experience.
If I do tip it is cash direct to the server.
I sell car parts for a prestige car manufacturer (and believe me it is far from just handing over parts and taking money) and never get tips regardless of how much extra I help the customer, and prestige brand doesn't mean prestige pay by any stretch of the imagination.

I generally only tip if it's easier than waiting for my change. Which usually means my hairdresser, taxi drivers and when eating out.
If I'm paying by card I never press the button to include a tip though, only if I'm handing over cash, and it's usually only a pound or two.
If the service was poor I wouldn't tip at all.
Working in Halfords I always found it odd when people tipped for having a bulb or wipers fitted - you've just paid extra for the service and you're going to tip too? I was always grateful, but still found it odd.

I always tip in restaurants min 10% or more if the service has been good, waiting staff usually get pretty poor wages and rely on tips for a decent living.

Taxi drivers, barbers and takeaway drivers usually get a couple of quid.
