The CC MTB weekender is folk from here - started April 19, then we did an October 19 ride, then it went to pot with Covid. Beer and bikes and mud. We had two weekends of amazing weather, great company, lots of beer, and some great food (very important). I hope we can do this again - it will come up on the forum once things get back to normal.
Lets hope for the best

I have a few plans:
Number 1 is to finish doing all the Veloviewer tiles in Kent.
Number 2 is to do a short camping tour to see if my kit is up to scratch.
Number 3 is to do a long tour of 2 weeks. Still thinking of ideas, but Dover to Durness is a possible, as is an Irish End to End via Wales.

What is the meaning of 1 ?
Idea 3 sounds very good - do you carry all the stuff with you on the bike ?

Good sounding plans.

Re number 3, I had a thought for an interesting tour: to take in all National Parks (10) and AONBs (34) in England. Would take a fair bit of planning to get the optimal route but would be worth it for the variety and quality of scenery and vistas.

That if I can plan a viable route, and attempting 500km in 24 hours are my two main challenges I'd like to do in 2021.

Would also like to get my Eddington number to 100. Just about doable I think but will require good luck with the weather and illness/injury as would need to do 34 centuries in the year (I managed 28 this year, do a nice stretch target). Would be dead chuffed with that as only started logging rides in 2017.

Is that the same as Strava heatmap? Do you have to pay a subscription to VeloViewer to get all your rides on it?

The minimum distance is 1 mile (or 1km if you're calculating it in km) If you have done 1 ride of 1 mile but have not done 2 rides of 2 miles then your Eddington number is 1.

No Strava doesn't calculate it. But there is a website written by an ex Cyclechatter that does.
https://cyclingrelated.uk/eddington/

You could, theoretically, use other units. For example for climbing you could use 10m of ascent. So if you have done 100 rides of 100x10=1,000m of ascent but not 101 rides of 1,100m then your metric 10m climbing Eddington would be 100. This would be a really pointless and confusing thing to do. Only a complete nerd would do such a thing. Yes I have done it. No I can't remember what the figure came out to.
Thanks for explaining . I will check the other link - it would have been cool if strava dod it too. That means if i keep changing the distance with each ride then the goal post keeps on moving

Veloviewer is a subscription service, but only costs £10 a year and it will work with a standard free Strava account. The map is divided into squares that are about one square mile. I have visited all the purple squares and need to ride or walk through the white squares.
My tour idea will be carrying everything. I have done a lot of tours in the past, but always stayed in hotels, so this will be a bit more challenging.
