Wow. Those cycling proficiency tests have changed a fair bit from my day. Seriously though these kids riding through busy streets the way they where was shocking. Granted we where all young tearaway,s at some point but that kind of behaviour was bad. They could of been knocked off there bikes and got seriously injured or the kids could of injured the pedestrians. It makes you wonder what havoc they caused further down the road at the other junctions. It gives responsible cyclists a bad name amongst the motoring public.
Who needs enemies with friends like these?

#bikelife as in motocross bikes being ridden on the road doing stunts not push bikes. The cyclists are just emulating the behaviour.
I'm impressed they organised themselves so well. My older children struggle to organise plans and follow them through with a few friends, never mind hundreds.
And let's be honest, if they'd been on road bikes, wearing lycra, we'd have called it tour d' somewhere and nobody would've complained about the disruption to traffic.

the cabbies shouldn't of closed the gaps, that was a bad move imo and if a cab had gotten damaged they would've raged.

There is a fairly commonly themed argument (one that I subscribe to) that roads aren't just for cars. They are for all legal road users. The main issue many face seems to be that car drivers consider roads to be solely for powered vehicles but they aren't
But with the premise that roads are for all legal road users come some element of responsibility and willingness to adhere to the rules in place on the roads. If cyclists actually want car drivers to consider cyclists to be just another road user and treat them with respect then this sort of behavior does us no favours

Of course, all users of motor vehicles play by the rules, don't they?
Change that round a touch, to "if drivers want cyclists to consider drivers to be just another road user and treat them with respect then this sort of behaviour does US (drivers) no favours". Which is the crux of the matter, IMHO.. Bad drivers don't get good drivers a bad name; so WHY should a decent law abiding cyclist get his knickers in a twist over some idiots on bikes?
I really couldn't care less what other cyclists get up to. The only reason I care what other drivers get up to is that cars hurt when they hit you.
