Having grew up watching tom baker i havent really seen the current crop , i did watch the special where the new doctor appeared and wasnt impressed enough to watch any more .

Thing is that the Doctors tend to improve over time

The actor and writers seem to get to know each other a bit better and things get better
and, of course, the people watching it get into the new character and possibly new companions

I though Ncuti was better in series 2 than the start of series 1
not sure about the rest of series one as "something went wrong" an I missed a few of them!

I like it! The writers could use the fact that Lance has only one plum as a plot device to help them escape from perilous situations.
