If he wants to avoid a busy or dangerous junction he could dismount, get the bus, a taxi, drive a car, or walkmto work. What he did is unlawful and in in the minds of the Daily Mail readers validates everything nasty they'be been saying, but he's too selfish to see it.

How do you know it's not a shared path like the one we see on the bridge?

If the pavement cyclist rides on a pavement and no pedestrians are there to see it is rider still a scourge?

if DM readers want to generalise about all cyclists then they'd be much like cyclists generalising about DM readers, no.
