Great picture.

Obviously a time trial with lack of leather hairnet, wasn't racing so much more photogenic before everyone started covering their heads with helmets and shades?

Always thought you were still a youngster Dayvo, or did you collect Soccer Stars of the Past?

Still a youngster, snorri. Just a rather (im)mature one.

No, soccer stars were cards sold in packs of 7 or 9 and you needed gazillions to complete the set - an entire album - of the 22 teams from the old English First Division of yesteryear. And I had ALL but ONE. Alan Woollett, the elusive git. And my mates would never swap with me, much to their pleasure.

Smokin Joe........yep a 70's Time Trial child.

Worked in a bike shop as well so cut me and I bleed 1970's LOL I'm always happy to try and answer 70's questions

This is me early 70's waiting to start being held at the line for a Hull Thursday TT , I'm in a white school long sleeved shirt but someone has lent me a "proper" top. Bike underneath is a Carlton Cobra with borrowed sprints and tubs.

Same here, late sixties/early seventies was my era as a youthful enthusiast, I love seeing pictures and reading about that era.

Bad points? The kit was nowhere near as good as it is now.

Good points? Hardly any traffic on Sundays and very little on weekday evenings. After work chain gangs, weekend racing and club runs could all take place on relatively quiet roads.
