Bits of Croydon aren't

Where in Surrey is the job? It's quite a large county

My main office will be in Leatherhead but will involve some travelling to Epsom and perhaps Croydon.
Thank you for all your replies. You had given me lot to think about. I have few more weeks to decide.

Leatherhead is a little less expensive to buy than other places closeby, including Epsom

Have you applied for the job? Can you push for a bigger salary?

I have a very nice life in Brizzle. I can't see me ever going back to Lancashire.

Why do I live in the south? Because I earn more than double the wage I could ever earn in the north. That's really the main reason why the housing is dearer.

I've just moved west. Moving south is so last century.......moving west is the hip thing to do.
I bet you wear your sister's skinny jeans, have a fringe, a beard and ride a fixie. Go on, admit it ;)

Down sarf is fine provided you are neither poor nor in a hurry.

Problem is lots of people down there are both.

I grew up in Surrey but moved to Kent and can't afford to move back.
Everything is more expensive not just houses but restaurants and shops.

In 1988 my car insurance in Twickenham was £1780 a year, a move up Lincolnshire dropped this too £420, same company, same cover only different location.
