Not totally RiP but it wasn't just water, local house septic tanks were flooded, I need to clean them off very very well.

Yeah, that wont kill em. Timbies are tough as f*ck boots.
Wash em in a bucket of soapy water, with added disinfectant, dry em out and then apply whatever leather application after. Jobs a good un.

Benefit of the doubt...some people are so flustered and glad to have been got out of a sticky situation that they forget to say thank you, but there are people around who are just rude. I once towed a taxi up a snowy hill with a tractor, the lifting strap had pulled so tight that we couldn't get it off his vehicle. He promised he'd get it off at home and return the strap when the snow had gone. That was the last I saw of it, but at least he did say thank you

9 this year alone, the number of new inner tubes I have given away free and despite every cyclist saying they will not one has dropped a replacement in, I live over looking the Sustrans route in Bardney and if I see somebody pushing a bike chances are they have a puncture. Over the 20 years I have lived here and done this only one person has dropped not a tube back but a nice bottle of wine, that was a motorcyclist. who broke down outside the house and I fixed his problem.

There is a ford near us, (Trescott if you are from round these parts) that is basically a idiot trap. Despite the depth markers and the fact there is a raging torrent in front of them, someone will always try it. The local rag always has a picture of some crappy car with only the roof showing above the water.
I often wonder if their insurance pays out? I mean, it doesn't take a genius to work out that (unless you have a Series Land Rover) it isn't going to end well!

There is a water splash crossing near my mums place, it was a raging torrent and some spoon in a small car tried it this morning, the insurance shouldn't pay out if you disregard the depth warnings.
