Now how do i get shut of the Get Windows10 icon from my main machine?

It's Windows update KB3035583. You can uninstall it from within Windows update.

my main problem with all windows after XP are...

1 - The 'search' tool is crap. That f*cking dog on XP was annoying, but at least i could specify the type of file i was looking for (video, audio, document, image)
2 - No starfield screen saver

it's not much to expect is it, yet they don't deliver.

Takes about an hour.

You can probably copy the starfield scr file over.... I've copied the solitaire file across because the Windows 10 version has ads....
