What a start to the day.
Cycling to work this morning, bit chilly, clear skies. Pull off the roundabout, notice the car at a give way on my left, look at driver, she looks in my direction then BAM car pulls out. No way I could stop. Next thing I know I'm on the floor after bouncing over the bonnet. Ambulance arrives, I get checked over. Ambulance crew impressed with my bike, LOL.
Trip to A&E thankfully confirms just cuts and bruises. Abrasion to left shoulder, Right elbow has a slight cut, right thigh has some road rash and I will have one hell of a bruise on my hip. Nothing broken and I'm sent home.
Now 7 hours after, I'm aching a bit and feel a bit sick. Hospital have said I should be OK with rest and pain killers.
Got someone looking after my claim and the driver will need a new windscreen (Not sure if it was me or the brake lever that did that damage.)
So that's me cut and bruised and my Boardman Road Comp a write off (forks twisted and the top tube has snapped, strangely wheel looks fine, may put pics up when I take em)
Did my statement while in A&E (Driver of car has apparently given a different address to me than she did the police), policeman was a fellow cyclist so he knew what I was talking about.
Anyway, just feeling a bit sorry for myself and aching in some weird places.
Be careful out there and be safe.
