Get well soon Gaz. Not sure how old you are but unfortunately the older you get the longer it takes the bruisers to heal!! Get the bike catalogue out.....

And if she did see you to form the opinion you were speeding, WHAT THE BLAZES did she pull out for?

That's what I was thinking, surely the riposte for that, from a legal point of view, would be 'then why did you pull out?'

Anyway, hope you mend quickly Gaz - the paracetomol and ibuprofen cocktail has been making me feel a bit nauseous too. Worrying that she is lying about the incident and her address, but it can only reflect badly on her.

Get well soon, mate.

Bizarre excuses, as has been said... if she saw you speeding then why pull out in front of you... and if she didn't see you then how did she know you were speeding? Take photos of bruising and bike and note down details of date/time/road conditions etc... it's amazing how quickly you can forget things.

Don't think its a Sherlock Holmes mystery. She didn't 'see you', you where clearly there by the fact there was a collision, therefore you must have been speeding otherwise she thinks she would have seen you. Bizarre I know but there is a kind of twisted 'logic' to it. Get well soon!

Glad to hear your only walking wounded, but shame about the bike.

If your going for a personal injury claim, don't forget the standard advice:

Write everything down as soon as possible, do maps with as much detail including irrelevant stuff like other vehicles, weather, pupose of your journey, evrything. (showing your awareness and giving your account weight) In fact do it yesterday!

Keep receipts for everything, taxis, dog walking, painkillers, dressings, any cost related to the collision.

Note down effects, bad nights sleep, pain, things you can't do, practical (Shopping, cleaning, work) and recreational (cycling, social events). If you have time off work they may want to add their costs to your claim/ claim in their own right.

All this stuff is much more difficult to remember months down the line when your at a medical, or your solicitor needs to know again.

The Police/CPS will pursue and gather evidence for any possible criminal action, but it's up to you to do as much as possible for your personal injury claim, which will be decided by insurance companies and lawyers. Sounds like you got a good police officer at the time, but don't rely on the Police accident report being as clear cut or detailed as your own account can be. It's a bonus if it is but you could lose out if it isn't.
