I've got to drive down to Staffordshire tomorrow morning to collect the MIL for her traditional twice-annual month staying at our house. She has the telly on loud all day long and when she's not watching telly she talks non-stop. And she smells. Bless her.

You need to meet my aunt. She just never stops talking, asks questions and then answers them herself without even listening to the answers you try to give. 10 minutes in her company leaves you with a spinning head and nauseousness. I can only conclude my poor uncle is completely deaf or otherwise deserves a medal for bravery under constant fire as I have no idea how he has lived with that woman for 25 years without being carted off to a lunatic asylum.

Most female chatter is actually a symptom of anxiety, I'm sorry to say. Mrs Gti gets all upset by the detail without taking a step back and seeing the bigger picture, which seems to me a big difference between the female and the male of our species.

It's me that's the strange one in this household. My wife is the personification of good sense.

It's me that can never remember where I've put things, never puts them back where they should go. Any job I do, it takes as long to find all the tools I need as it does to do the job itself.

I don't tidy up after myself, never close doors, put clothes away, wash my cup after I've had a tea. I misplace the car keys, forget it's rubbish day, can never remember names or birthdays.

Or so I'm told.
Completely the opposite in Casa Fnaar. :okay:

I'd suggest it was my aunt but her husband has been dead for 15 years!

The stereotypical dynamics of stereotypical heterosexual relationships genuinely fascinate me. It's like peering in through the window, wondering if this is what my mother meant when she said I would be missing out if I insisted on being gay...
Ha ha, can get worse: like when women are completely helpless at (say) bike mechanics, so we get the (presumed) competent male to do it for us, but we talk him through every single step (while we put the kettle on ) doubting his competence
I have learned to leave the house when hired workmen are in
