Wood burners

I'm about to order 1.2 cubic metres of logs, at £120. The problem I have is with price comparison - I have no idea how many logs that is or how much 10 logs is in cubic metres.

Probably one of those big white bags but depends how they stack them.

Find a good one and stick with them. Close stacked wood gets hugely more in 1m3 than a dumpy bag, as they're called.

I've used a few and like Timports and White Horse.

I never pay for wood. Word in the village is that I'm very handsome. There's also another word going around, one that I am a rabid collector of old wood. I get a year round supply of logs, off cuts, etc, brought to chez Drago for free.

You want t make sure the logs are all small enough to fit in your burner aswell.

Look interesting,says they have them in a shop not too far from me.Any idea how much ? Also do they smell of coffee ? Would be a bonus.

I’ve got a nice supply of logs stacked this year.

My wife wanted a tree by the garage trimming back so I really went overboard with the chainsaw and cut it back almost to the stump. Turns out it was the wrong tree though and I got a good telling off.

Anyway, the following week I got the chainsaw out again and cut back the right tree this time.

16 logs in a bag, each one burns for about an hour in our small 5kw wood burner, no real smell of coffee I'm afraid.

Yes I read that but don't really understand it because the ones I had burned well with no more smoke than a kiln dried log, i.e. virtually none.

With a modern woodburner the venting is set up so that secondary combustion of the smoke occurs once they're up to their operating temperature.

A tree came down along a walk near me last year... every night we would pass this bloke and his wheel barrow complete with his head torch beavering away chopping it up a bit at a time till it eventually disappeared.
