Hmm another possibly seasonal word. What next? Sleigh, snowy, merry, carol ...

I've just re-counted the letters in Sleigh. How about Angel?

I loved today's word. Some people in the main thread are being a bit sniffy about it.

It's a common word, we all know it, we've probably all used it, it's not a variant spelling, but it was completely unexpected.

I have to admit I didn't get it. After staring at my phone for ages, I was stumped and handed it to my wife who took all of 2 seconds to get it.

Best Wordle in ages. Definitely best if the year so far

All IMO of course.

By far and away the worst word of 2026 😁

My only issue is that I don’t regard it as a “proper word”. What ever that means.
It doesn’t confirm to normal word structure and is more of a sound than a word.
It reminds me of 1970s Batman comics.

I have to admit to cheating after being completely stuck for 30 minutes and so used an online Wordle helper.
There was only one possible answer remaining. As said above, it’s totally ridiculous.

I thought it was a fine word, at my guess 3 it was clear it had a slightly unusual word structure, but that's fine.

I knew gumbo. Probably from watching Forest Gump.
I went for Jumbo first , like most sensible people would.

Still not worse than oomph

I quite like the ones that make me scratch my head a bit (provided they're not the American spellings or acronyms like SNAFU that once came up). Much more satisfying to get one after a lot of thought and revisiting.

Come on, Gumbo is hardly an obscure word. It's interesting, and a bit unusual maybe. That's what makes it a challenge.

I went for Jumbo first too, tho. A bit more obvious.

I'm just happy with the symmetry in my attempt.

Didn't think of jumbo. Not sure why, as I hadn't eliminated the letter J by that point.

Worked it out - it was because I had already identified G as one of the letters to use.

As is traditional when the word is difficult or unfamiliar, I'm calling foul on today's word. That has to be the stupidest Wordle ever. It makes Homer and oomph look sensible.

I don't often post in here but to avoid spoiling the fun elsewhere. I thought today's word is a very British English one and I'm surprised to find it in Wordle which is a North American thing.

It's interesting to learn the two different meanings the word has in the UK and North America. If the American meaning is used in British English I've never come across it.
