To those moaning about. today's word I say: pish! and pshaw! And possibly also fiddlesticks.

I always thought it was “sure” said in an ironic sort of way.
Ie “Yeah sure you did.”
But now I learn it’s pshaw.
All these obscure words that most people have never heard of are turning from a test of vocabulary and logic into a test of patience.
Have to admit this is the first of the recent obscure ones that I didn't know. I was fine with pshaw. But butte?
I put it to you that you are only saying that because you are secretly in the pay of Wordle. You are an accomplice of Wordle posing as a genuine customer in order to entice others.Wordle 1,858 3/6

I don't think that's an unusual word.

I guess I'm lucky then. It's easier to guess that BUTTE is a real word, as it looks like one, than PSHAW, which does not.I was the other way round. I did a geography degree so knew butte.
But I guess the owners put these weird words in to create online discussion.

You'll find it used a lot on political forums and it's also used on ebay, where shill bidding is prohibited.
