I used to amuse myself on boring afternoons by doing a flange count on ebay - some people use the word to describe the most mundane of objects.

Not a real word, I know, but I do like "testiculate", meaning to wave one's arms around whilst talking b****cks.

Less smutily, Tepid. Has such negative connotations, but is a genuine technical descriptive word.

Was reading a technical document the other day. Vehicles were due to be kept in one of four states of storage. Hot storage is where they get a weekly in-service run-out. Cold storage is where they get stuck in a shed and forgotten. In between these were two other states, one called warm, and the fourth called tepid. Loved it. Sadly we didn't get the validation work for this one.
