Every desk needs one of these:
No definitions, just spellings. Where there are alternatives, it gives them all and states which is best to use. The only dictionary I know which clearly marks where to divide words and so makes sure you avoid algorithm-driven howlers. For example: NOSD 'Ashken-azi Jews', where most word processors will give you 'Ashke-nazi Jews' (ouch!). Check it out.

As I can't spell it, never liked it and now don't have to do it, I'll have to describe it.
