Working up to Clipless

I've been clipless since 1986 and definitely had more 'moments' when I had toeclips and straps.

I agree, I used to fall off regularly with clips and have never had any moments with clipless. Although I think better derailleurs help as I seem to recall many of my youthful toe clip moments occured when I was locked in tight and the chain fell off when changing gear!
