Quite amusing tonight, an Iranian playing a bloke called Trump

And it’s 10-10.
Both blocking each other’s move.
Who has the most cards to play? 😁

Well in an huge upset Iran beat Trump.
Lowest seed takes out the highest.

Hossein is almost certainly a top 16 player, think he has been before, but he did something to his neck and shoulder just over a year ago that took ages to heal. Played great tonight.

What a day of results, no previous winners left in bottom half of the draw!

Feels like it has been the greatest tournament ever for drama.
No great shock for me on Vafaei. Understandably, he lost his tendency for euphoria right at the qualifiers.
It might be his biggest win in his life, but I imagine it still feels minor in the realm of things.

This year, I do not have a clue who will win the tournament. All can, though obviously Vafaei is still a very long shot.

IIRC his highest ranking was 17th, which got him into the Masters a year or two back when someone pulled out. More typically, he's been floating around the high 20s / low 30s in terms of ranking. A lot of that is down to the fact that he can't get visas to travel to some of the ranking events.

A shame really, as he's a cracking player. Always entertaining, always full of grit.

I wonder why O'Sullivan insists on continuing to use the traditional blue chalk, when virtually all his fellow pros have switched to Taom? The others are complaining about it and snooker clubs are beginning to insist no more blue chalk to be used.

Having used Taom, the improvement is out of this world, not a single mark on the table or cue ball after a couple of hours play.

Most likely his mindset seeking comfort in some familiarity.
His sensory system is over sensitive thus his continued difficulties with tips.

I always sensed his move to Dubai would be disastrous for him. All relative though. Even with a very below average season for him he is still 8th on the 1 year list. Players of Trumps and OSullivans quality can still win playing below their best.
Robertson is number 1 and does look it. (Score 3-2 on catchup)

Murphy must be laughing his socks off watching Lower Decks tonight, while Higgins and Robertson look odds on to hit balls around until gone midnight, with their semi-final starting at 1300 tomorrow!
