Oh, good god, Genesis. An object lesson in how a shoot band composed of self-indulgent public school rich kids can actually become even worse when their prannet of a frontman leaves. At least Peter Gabriel then realised what an idiot he had been and started making some half-decent music and also opened up the UK to things most people would never otherwise have heard from other parts of the world. For the evil, selfish, Thatcherite, gurning gnome that is Phil Collins there is no salvation. He will burn in the lowest circle of rock hell for all eternity where they only play Genesis songs, with an occasional break for Rush...

Both great bands (even if the Clash are massively overrated) but ultimately both the product of indulged rich kids pretending to slum it.

I just can´t see the point of people complaining about rants in a thread specifically designed for rants. They are all unreasonable - that´s the point. You have officially now spoiled the fun.

Oh I nearly forgot The Smiths (ignoring you two for a moment). They didn't write songs, they wrote dirges to die to. I once bought an album and listened to it on the way to work. I was dead by the time I got there. Only some sharp witted colleagues, noticing my car was not in the usual spot and remembering I'd just bought a Smiths album, saved me. The previous time I died was when someone substituted my Led Zepp album for Leonard Cohen.
