I can't believe that we have got to post number 60 discussing the worst band of all time and no one has yet mentioned that utter pile of shite known as U2, even if you can put up with their dull music, can you take seriously grown men who still use fiddle nicknames, and always turn up at all of the world's right on events, utter pish.

As U2 always win these internet polls (and why wouldn't they, as they are furthest up their own arse), that I always assume the full question is: "Apart from U2, who are the worst band ever?"

No point in debating fully set in stone absolutes that are already known to everyone under the sun

I have never seen much good about U2 even though they are given God like status by some Irish people, I can't stand them.

But Coldplay are even more irritating (if possible!).

Who mentioned Dream Theater? They're Grrrreat, until he starts bloody singing....... (but even they can be accused of venturing into the typical North American desire to make political points through "concept" albums)

Thankyou, the levels of shiteness that U2 have reach are not due to a steady decline, they are as a result of an aim to be completely shite right from the start, a shiteness that other poor quality bands like Queen and The Osmonds can only dream of

It's the Darkness.

If ever there was a turgid, lame, piece of dribbling re-invented, deformed testicle filled, whining, puss oozing, vomit inducing band, they were them. I mean they actually won awards for the useless imitatory, piercingly awful glass shattering, cacophony they produced. They looked, shite, they sounded shite and everyone thought they were wonderful.

I actually bought one of their albums once. I couldn't tell one track from another, I was going to sell it again on e-bay but the cat got to it first, physically hauled it from the CD palyer and ripped it to shreds.

It isn't. Simple tunes up top but there's a lot going on if you listen closely. The drumming is a masterclass in subtlety and expression.

Not in the same league but Del Amitri are underrated. Their hits are not great but their albums got better as the years went by.

I think that U2 are blandsville too but I saw them in concert a few years ago and they were great! Much to my surprise. Still don't buy their records though.

Aren't they? News to me. Dull as fcuk Franz Ferdinand spin - offs, that's all the Kaiserchiefs are. With crap lyrics ... "watching the people get lairy, it's not very pretty I tell thee"? oh, come on. Not crap?
But, they're not as bad as Coldplay, I'll give you that.
