I suppose there ought to be some mention of those in the "It's so bad, it's good" category. I mean those programmes which we don't like to admit we were glued to, that were trite but we still devoured them avidly. I suppose the recent Outcasts (already mentioned) comes into that category. I watched every episode, even resorting to 'catch-up' on Iplayer. But, considered as SF, it's cr@p. Why couldn't they have taken a 'colonists' theme from an established SF author, coughed up the TV rights, and used that?
Maybe I should mention London's Burning. Yes, it got 'soapier' and 'soapier' as series followed series, but still I used to watch it! And drink in every inconsequential and irrelevant line. I think in the end the actors and production team rose up in revolt, said "we don't want to appear in this cr@p any longer"... The scriptwriters retaliated by 'killing' everyone off - in a cliffhanger which became the last episode of the last series. And it's not been heard of since - thankfully....
