Getting a Kask Mojito on my C2W scheme but with the Infinity at a similar price I wondered does anyone have any knowledge on how faster they may make you?

I average about 17mph on my ride. A friend told me you feel no aero benefits below 20mph...

I've had a google and can't seem to find anything out there that would cover the benefits of a Infinity as opposed to a normal helmet at a normal speed. Any experts out there that can help?

Your friend is right. Aero helmets only work if you assume the time trial position of low on the bars for a sustained period at a reasonable speed. For normal riding where you are sitting up a lot of the time and stopping and starting it would be a waste of time.

I have a casco speedster that is a similar shape to the infinity. I only got it as it has a visor, which is useful for me in the rain as I wear glasses.
Reading all the blurb, they are supposed to help and are better for everyday riding than a full TT helmet as you do not get significant losses if you look down or to the side without a big pointy bit on the back!
I can't say I have noticed a difference in speed when I wear the casco or a "normal" cycling helmet, but there may be a small advantage. Next year I am starting to do some TTs again, so maybe I can look at a few results aand see if there are any marginal gains.

I use an aero road helmet for racing (sworks evade) and i think there is a slight benefit, i cant quantify this in figures but i notice it in when the wind is strong and how that feels. Realistically the speed difference is very marginal, its not going to give you a noticeable bump in average speed but it might shave a few seconds off in a TT or be the difference between you and the guy you are against in the race to the line. Bigger gains to be made wearing tighter clothes (particularly a skin suit but just a better fitting jersey that doesnt flap around will do) shoe covers and above all else working on your position on the bike.

I'm not one for worrying about "aero" but my Spiuk Nexion came with a clear overshell which would be "aero" enough, is also really good on wet days (which are plentiful in Norn Iron)

If you're using it C2W you might do better saving the cash and just setting off 5 seconds earlier

Road aero helmets have become popular in recent years, for some reason. I suspect it's because the likes of Cav started wearing them. They probably offer a small benefit when you're sprinting to the line at 1500w, but I doubt the rest of us mere mortals would notice a difference.

I did buy myself an aero helmet for time-trialling, but only because I wanted to look silly like the others.

Latest aero road helmets do not make you boil! Some reviews actually state that they vent better as the airflow is vastly improved and directed.

I would buy an aero road helmet today if someone could advise whether they cut wind noise too!?!

It won't make you any slower.

And some people in this thread need to google Kask Infinity - it is not a pointy hat aero lid.

The infinity is a good winter helmet due to its fewer vents at the front which will help keep you head a tad warmer. A few of the lads in the club have ordered them
