Gone abroad..Anglesey. Might as well be as Newbourough Forest is stunning. Never managed to visit as we usually go further North and by the time we pass, the road get's shut off as no parking. Camping this weekend. Even got the bus to do 45 mpg on the way down. Not bad for a big brick.

I love Llannwyn island. We had lots of walks on there.
We were coming back when a couple told us about the twin towers.

Yeah it's not the money. My wife is disabled and I'm not in the best of health. If we were to get stranded abroad I'm not sure either of us could cope with it

Given your specific circumstances, I would personally be inclined not to take the risk. It is very unlikely anything would happen but given the very small chances and the possible repercussions if it did, I'd probably look UK.

EEA has pretty much calmed down, its only the odd queue that gets reported as "news" not the 90% of time when its working fine as that isnt a story. So as long as you avoid start of school holidays etc its not an issue. Book assistance both ways and you'll breeze thru anyway - its available at all airports, even overseas ones, its not something the UK holds a monopoly in!

What is this "assistance" you mention , my health is, surprisingly, improving but getting from taxi to plane is a daunting prospect.

You have the golf buggies to get you to your departure gate or from your arrival gate. You can also get assistance on / off plane if necesary.

Having used the service once due to being in plaster and on crutches I'd avoid the service if possible.
I didn't enjoy the faff to the extent that I didn't use the service on return. However, if you do need the service then it will be invaluable.

We'd read a new story on the delays in Milan resulting in 100 people missing their flight, we were in Malaga at the time so were a little worried.
Got to the airport and it was an absolute breeze, no queues whatsoever for the EES.

We missed a connecting flight changing planes in Canada, trying to get to the US. They had a US security / customs outpost at the Canadian airport which took hours and hours to get through during which time our connection had come and gone.They were surly and hostile too. This was decades ago and I imagine they are ten times worse these days. Think I did a couple more US work trips but not somewhere I'd go to from choice. As an aside a former boss in his previous (senior) role had it written into his contract that he'd not be required to go to the US. He just couldn't be arsed with it. We worked in IT / telecomms so it's where a lot of our suppliers are.
