Had a damaged new ipace, got hit coming off the loader.

Insurance claim.
Parts for a new rear wheel and wishbone assembly few bits and bobs came to £1800.

Then someone spotted that the battery had a crack in it.
What ya reckon.....

20 thousand pounds.. And some are 30k
Wrote it off.
Brand new jag.

So in a few yrs when warranty expires who will want a car with a 20k+ battery...

Joke money..

I like Skol

A Minging Manc...

Do you buy the battery with the Ipace? Why the write off though even without the battery it is still £30,000 worth.

Not surprised really although £20k either means the iPace is a loss leader (doubt it) or smallish volumes of batteries hike up cost.
My worry is how bricked the batteries will be after 2 or 3 years? Do we know yet?

I know what an Ipace is, but even without that important piece it has a value.

Some all electrics you lease the batteries, manufacturers very on this, or they did. Just seemed odd to write off for less than half the value, for sure though they know their job better than I do.

Its a main dealer, i guess it will simply take the write off value.

If it was a used car, yes it would and i guess it will end up in the trade, once the insurance sells it on.

It's not just the battery pack, it's cost of fitting it etc.

Looking at Tesla's that's the first thing on the car when they make them.

Hope it is not one of my LRJ customers as they are losing big bucks at the moment, local one takes £1,000 per hour to open.
