I was going to ask if anyone behind witnessed it? They did seem to be driving sensibly or it could have been a lot worse

Good luck

I've had nothing back from the police so far. will be contacting the local police office tomorrow to see if they care. if not i will try my local police who seem to care more, and then if not i will be writing some stiff letters for no one caring.

I am aware that my view may be biased here, but, from the stories I've read on here and the stories I heard from others "on the grapevine", as well as accounts of personal experiences and my own personal experiences, many traffic cops are more bothered about their own personal performance-related images than anything else. Report bad and genuinely dangerous driving to them? They don't care (too much like hard work). Let them catch you driving one snifter of one whisker over the speed limit for a fraction of a second ... and you get 3 points and a lecture. And isn't it funny how, just by pure coincidence, they tend to set up their mobile speed traps on blind bends, directly after the speed limit of the road dramatically reduces and the signage is bad. There are one or two "sweet spots" near me ... one in particular where you go from a 40 to a 30 - the 30 sign is obscured by an overhanging tree and the road is wide, quiet and non-residential ... and you come round the corner (not 20 yards from the obscured sign) ... and there's often a mobile speed trap there! Funny thing, that. I know two people who'd been knobbled there simply because they couldn't see the 30 sign due to foliage.

It looks like theres been a road death recently just over that bridge, there were a load of flowers left by the lampost at 1'23 in your video.

just seen the message 92 and 94, a car and a bus??? according to the comments there have been many crashes along that stretch.

I've cycled over that bridge a few times, but really hate it as it is extremely dangerous to cycle over. Theres plenty of room to widen the bridge. As a temporary measure at least put a 20 mph limit on the bridge itself...what is the LCC doing about it?

I saw the flowers there yesterday, bloody loads of them. I think the bus was on the other side though, past the tesco's and by the lights at the next junciton. may be wrong.

How can i find out if the LCC have anything planned?

After many many many many phone calls trying to find out if i can actually speak to someone about this ( the answer is no)... i replied to the initial e-mail i was sent. after many many e-mails i finally got a response i was looking for and have found out what happened.

This is what was sent to the registered owner of the vehicle
We have received information that suggests a male driver of the above vehicle was seen driving without due care and attention on the A222 (Croydon Road by Elmers End)
If the information is correct the driver was committing an offence that often attracts a fine and penalty points.

Last year there were over 180 deaths on London roads; there were many more collisions that resulted in very serious injuries.

The purpose of this letter is to increase driver awareness and promote road safety.

Please drive carefully, keep yourself and others safe and avoid the risk of being prosecuted.

If you were not the driver on this occasion please pass this letter to the person who was

If the information is correct? i had video proof! Not the result i was looking for.

They also told me this about the roadsafe london service which i used to report this incident.
You may be aware that 'Roadsafe London' is in its infancy and your report has raised issues that had not before been dealt with, particularly around possible prosecutions of offenders and the wording of our standard letter.

Roadsafe London was set up largely to provide the Metropolitan Police Service with a source of intelligence that relates to road incidents as opposed to the crime matters normally dealt with by Crimestoppers. This will enable tasking of roads policing units based on a number of reports as opposed to individual incidents per se. We anticipated, and have received, a large number of reports and considered a standard letter to drivers on a first notification was the only practical way to deal with volume reports and a 'standard' letter was sent to the driver in your case.

I appreciate this will not always provide satisfaction of prosecution or direct police contact on a first case but I hope you will understand what we are trying to achieve by this gathering of information. ALL identifiable drivers that have allegedly been driven in an unacceptable manner will be contacted by letter and, where a vehicle receives multiple reports, an intervention against an individual may be warranted backed up by Roadsafe reports and other intelligence where available.

I won't be using this service again to report what i would define as major altercations with other vehicles on the road but will continue to use it for reporting minor incidents.

BBC or ITV gaz? Try and entice them to link it with a pro/anti Mayor Cycling Campaign type of thing...how'issues' need to be addressed to make "the roads safer for all".

Send it to Cameron too, send it to everyone. You're aggrieved and that's fair.
Naturally, you have put it behind you - the 'authorities' hope that it will drift out to sea...and the pig in the car is still throwing his weight about with others who haven't got videocams.

It is a careless world sometimes.

What next?

We have received information that you killed someone with an axe. If this information is correct you have committed an offence that often attracts a life prison sentence...

Local news might be an idea. BBC or ITV. Some days they are desperate for news you if they so you might be in luck. They will know about the legal side of transmitting any video footage you provide them as they will be in trouble if a complaint is upheld. They may also be interested in the written communication you have had with the police.

We covered a live goat race once with a satellite uplink truck and a second camera man. The race was actually run every day, sometimes twice in the same day so it was hardly hot off the press. This would make a better story.
