Just been into my LBS to get some fettling done. The owner said that he had a pair of wheels that would really go with my bike. OK ,says I, lets see them. He brings down a pair of deep rim carbon fibre Zipps.........£2300 Do I look like someone who's just won the fecking lottery says I.....

my lbs charged me £33 to fit own supplied forks and head set he had to press cones in and grease bearings , fit supplied bottom bracket and chainring all new and fit supplied sprocket then align it all up , not exactley cheap but not complainig either

I turned up early for the ERC ride a couple of Tuesdays back and a good few of the really fast boys had deep section zipp wheels (I don't know if they were carbon though). If I could afford them I couldn't bare to take them on a club run; 30mph over the many potholes in Edinburgh/ East Lothian and often in a peleton they can't be avoided
