A thread for pics of your bike and a prehistoric site.
So dig out your photos of outings to henges, hillforts, hut circles etc
I'll start with my bike in front of Castercliffe - an Iron Age hill fort overlooking Colne and Nelson.

Uffington hill fort from my ridgeway ride

Unfortunately the bike was stolen not long after

"Seven Barrows", visible just beyond the wooden fence. Not far from Uff' White horse, between Blowingstone Hill & Lambourn, it's a neolithic burial site, apparently in use before ~1000BC. I only recently noticed it, while doing some 'gravel', having spent a few years ignoring it's presence heading on road to Lambourn...

MBIFO the motte (behind and left of the chapel) at Marlborough College.
It is now believed that this started life as a companion monument to nearby Silbury Hill
Flared out in the light in the first pic....

...so I returned for the next pic from a different angle - which was fractionally better

Crikey that brings back some memories! A winter ride from Poole and back, some fierce winds blowing across Salisbury Plain, literally zilch left in the tank when I got home very late. Only did it the once ^_^

I set out from Poole that day, but caught a train to London first

And it was a headwind the whole way. I'd have been fine, except for promising myself a meal at Solstice Park, which turned out to be shut...
