Nostell Priory Estate
Wragby
(alongside) Doncaster Road/A638

I know it looks in good order, but it had only recently been restored, from a derelict state not long before l took this

Apparently, this was lived in, until the 1950s
There is a room to either side of the arch

Some sort of shelter on Cockfield Fell, not sure what it was but it's definitely a bit of a ruin now.

It certainly could be, there's been coal mining and quarrying on the fell for centuries, with lots of ancient pits, holes and spoil heaps. I'm sure there was actually a coke works around that very area last century. The vast majority of buildings are long gone except this one. There seems to be evidence of railway sidings just south west of here, running off the main (long gone) railway line, and visible on Google maps. I feel the need for a 'your bike in front of old industry' photo! As an aside, a club mate from years ago was an enthusiast of old bricks from obscure, long closed brickworks and I'm pretty sure he'd occasionally end up with a couple in his saddlebag that he'd found on a club run!
