I've always liked these kind of historical water company & telephone exchange buildings.

Found this one today - another water company building. Near Doddington, Kent.

This local landmark is always referred to as "Cleadon Water Tower", but, it is more correctly "Cleadon Pumping Station Chimney", the gates are the entry to the pumping engine building.

A BT building looking through the dirty windows some of the machines inside might still be operational due to amount of flickering lights they had.

Unusual little building which is housing a historical water pump - cared for by a local preservation society.

Utility buildings say so much about the period in which they were built.

Here are two contrasting styles, both lovely to my eyes and both in South Somerset.
