Not a great photo (lighting makes tunnels difficult to photograph) but a foot tunnel under the railway line connecting Stirchley and Kings Heath:

And on the Harborne Cycleway

Both in Birmingham, both taken on the move, hence a bit too much blurriness.

Hmm, lots of places to start, depending on where you're travelling from. One good place is the Old Station Yard in Penistone where there's plenty of free parking, a bike shop and Jenny's Cafe for some very reasonably priced hearty fare. Details https://www.cyclepenistonecic.com/
The Thurgoland Tunnel is about 3 miles away in the direction of Sheffield.
If you want to go direct to the tunnel, this page might be helpful.
Or did I misunderstand and you meant the TPT more generally?

Looking for a ride that we have not done, we're coming from Worksop, he's capable of 20+ miles, so 10 out & then back but doesn't have to be that far, he's mad on railways so just thought to combine the 2. Is there any parking at the Stocksbridge end, we could park up there, ride to Penistone, have a break, go past, turn around come back to Penistone for another break then back to Stocksbridge. But if Penistone is the best parking we could just start there.

Ahh. 20+ miles is a good distance - good on him.
I'm not familiar with the parking options Stocksbridge offers; it's a little off the trail. Starting in Oughtibridge would give you 10 miles out & 10 back, though again you might have to hunt for on street parking. If you could stretch to adding another mile-ish onto each leg, you could start from Beeley Wood lane - I saw several folks parked up near the end, walking their dogs and such like. (Bear in mind there's a stiff little climb on the a road out of Oughtibridge. Only about a third of a mile, but it's there. Here's a route and starting point if you choose to try that.
Even coming from Worksop, it might still be worth thinking about starting in Penistone and heading towards Sheffield, perhaps as far as Oughtibridge? M1 up to J37, A628 to Penistone, rather than having to faff through Sheffield to get to Wadsley Bridge.

If you're after a new route for him, have you considered the Five Pits Trail routes just south of Chesterfield? Plenty of good quality off-road routes to wander at length, with multiple points of access with parking. Temple Normanton out to Teversal and back would be about 20 miles ... and a cracking off-road, but on good surfaces, ride!
