Most of our rural puddles have diesel and a variety of other less than pleasent additives - many of which can have a deliterious, but invisible, effect on the integrity of the constituent parts of a lid, potentially reducing it's effectiveness when it is required in an emergency sitiuation like bonce bashing into the ground.

You're quite right but in this instance. where there's no sense, there's no feeling.

Every few years a powerful storm reveals a 3000 years old forest on a beach along Poland’s Baltic coast. The beach lies far from any settlement and can only be reached by riding several kilometres from the nearest beach entrance. This is possible usually only in winter, when the beach surface is deeply frozen and firm enough to cycle across.
