Your bike on a bridge pics

Ha, a retrospective one. Firstly my photo just on the end of a bridge. Then the moment a couple of days ago when it was demolished, for it to be replaced with one that will withstand the geological movements that were making the old one dangerous.

Le Pont-des-Deux Rivières, south of Ploërmel and at the confluence of the Ninian river (coming in from the left) and the Oust (flowing past on the right).

I’ve also seen this spot called ‘Les 2 Ponts’ …and you can see why.

I know that I’ve posted photos of le Pont-des-Deux Rivières before but I’m not sure that I’ve ever posted this particular image. The bridge in the foreground (over the Ninian) is also the Nantes-to-Brest canal towpath (and Eurovelo #1) and it’s usually very busy. As this section of the towpath is currently “closed” (certainly “open” to walkers though and I saw some idiots on bikes on it yesterday), I took advantage of the calm to get this photo today.

This country mouse cycled round London this weekend and went over a lot of bridges! This is Teddington Lock!

Today's ride around Caversham area. Here's the Christchurch Bridge, a fairly new footbridge over the Thames

Then another footbridge across a weir section. The building in the distance is Reading Hydro - a small turbine producing electricity

And joining the Kennet now to return home, halfway across Horseshoe Bridge

Steel footbridge with timber deck and handrailing over the Langley Beck at the East end of Staindrop. The same Langley Beck that flows beneath the abandoned Langleydale railway viaduct a few miles West of here.
